Here are some things that might help you with planning your visit with us. For overnight programs, there is additional information in the Overnight Programs programs section.
Please encourage students to bring an Earth-Friendly Lunch for their visit to Wambangalang EEC. We have a worm farm, compost bin and chickens at our school to make use of organic food scraps. We also support healthy eating for visiting students.
sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper or in a reusable container
fresh fruit (this comes with its own compostable packaging!)
vegetable sticks (in a paper bag that can be composted or a reusable container)
yogurt or cheese, packed in a reusable container with a reusable spoon
a drink in a reusable container, that can be washed out and used again
recess and Lunch
plenty of water (we recommend 750ml-1lt water bottles)
broad-brimmed hat
clothing appropriate for the season/day
non-aerosol sunscreen and insect repellent
comfortable/enclosed walking shoes (with socks)
pencils, worksheets and clipboards (if required)
as above
class roll
medical information/medications/first aid kit
digital camera (recommended)
please note: no mobile reception is available a the school
As most of our programs are run predominately outside, please ensure that students are advised to bring weather appropriate clothing. We may have to postpone your visit if the weather looks unfavorable. Heavy rain, strong winds, and Extreme/Catastrophic bushfire ratings make outdoor programs potentially dangerous. We will be in contact with you the day prior to discuss this.
Ensure you confirm drop off and pick up locations and times to coincide with program times. Will be unable to run additional activities to cater for groups that arrive early/leave late due to buses. Please also confirm this with your driver on the day.
During Terms 1 and 4 it is Bushfire season. In the event of Severe and Extreme Fire Danger Ratings, you may be required to have a bus available to stay on site. Please consider this when making your booking.
