Wambangalang Environmental Education Centre (WEEC) works within a team of 26 Environmental and Zoo Education Centres (EZEC) providing services to schools throughout NSW within the NSW Department of Education and Communities (DEC).
WEEC is a small dynamic facility, within a traveling stock route reserve consisting of regenerating box gum grassy woodland. It sits within the broader natural and cultural landscape of Central Western NSW that is traditionally home to the Wiradjuri people.
Our qualified and highly experienced DoE teachers facilitate programs both in the field and within schools. We have access to a variety of unique natural and cultural areas and we also welcome opportunities to expand into areas local to your school. Our school places great emphasis on experiential learning opportunities that are designed to meet the needs of visiting groups.
WEEC strives to shape learners to become environmental citizens and leaders through building meaningful connections in, about and for the environment and community. We achieve this by leading the protection, improvement, and respect of our natural and cultural heritage as a valuable asset.
WEEC also delivers professional learning opportunities for teaching staff via center programs, collaborative opportunities with other local agencies and opportunities for schools to book the center for their staff development days.
Book with us for high-quality excursions and incursions linked to syllabus outcomes.
