Stage 4 - Environmental Connections

About this excursion
Students take part in a series of activities designed to help them connect with and appreciate the environment by spending time in it and having fun!
Focus:
The purpose of this program is for students to explore connections between people, places and natural environments. They will examine connections within their class group, within an ecosystem and between and their environment.
Excursion activities
Prior to your excursion you will work with our teaching staff to map a bespoke itinerary for your excursion. You can choose from the following activities:
- Riding bikes through our woodland
- Orienteering (map reading race games)
- Archery
- Completing our ropes course (low ropes, no harnesses)
- Initiative games (strengthening teamwork, communication and collaboration)
- Nature Shows (learning about snakes, lizards, insects and fish)
- Aboriginal Histories and Culture (examining artefacts and looking for bushtucker and scar trees while bushalking)
- Shelter Building Challenge (using ropes, tarps and pegs)
- Leadership development workshop (styles, importance, role-plays)

Cost:

NSW DoE School - $15 per student

Non-Government and Independent schools - $700 per Wambangalang teacher.
*Please note that larger groups may require more than 1 Wambangalang teacher.

PD4-3 investigates effective strategies to promote inclusivity, equality and respectful relationships
PD4-4 refines, applies and transfers movement skills in a variety of dynamic physical activity contexts
PD4-8 plans for and participates in activities that encourage health and a lifetime of physical activity
ST3-1WS-S plans and conducts scientific investigations to answer testable questions, and collects and summarises data to communicate conclusions.
