Stage 3 - HGPE - Nature Documentaries - Overnight Camp

“People must feel that the natural world is important and valuable and beautiful and wonderful and an amazement and a pleasure.” - Sir David Attenborough

About this excursion

Students will develop skills in observing nature through bird watching, collecting terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates, and by studying vegetation.

Focus:

The purpose of this program is to provide nature-loving students with a chance to explore their local environments and identify living things that would make a suitable topic for a short nature documentary.

Skills in nature photography, filming, script writing and narration will be developed in specific workshops before students produce their own documentary. AI tools will be discussed and explored to support resource development.

Students will plan and create a short nature documentary for a specific target audience and for a specific purpose.
