Stage 1 - Minibeast Safari

About this excursion

Students explore the exciting world of invertebrates, observe the characteristics of living things. After collecting and observing a number of different specimens the students will create their own minibeast and design a habitat for their creature.

Focus:

The purpose of this one-day program is to provide students with opportunities to explore the exciting world of invertebrates and to observe the characteristics of these creatures and determine the value they have within different ecosystems.

Excursion activities

Your students explore the centre searching for minibeasts. Learning about food chains, habitats, and the impact of humans on an ecosystem.
In the classroom your students will be able to see up close examples of real live animals and use the microscopes to discover more about the minibeasts that live in the area around the classroom.
We will examine minibeasts that live on the land and in the water and discuss whether they are predators or prey.

  • NSW DoE School - $15 per student

  • Non-Government and Independent schools - $700 per Wambangalang teacher.

    *Please note that larger groups may require more than 1 Wambangalang teacher.
