Early Stage - 1 Wombat Stew
"Wombat stew, Wombat stew, Gooey, brewy, Yummy, chewy, Wombat stew!"
About this excursion
Wombat Stew is a classic Australian book that is read to the students. Students can then explore the characteristics, needs and behaviours of living things and the environment that they live in. Students have an opportunity to create their own wombat stew, experiments with a range of craft material to make their bug and participate in the Wombat Stew song and dance.
Focus: The purpose of this excursion is for students to draw inspiration from the book " Wombat Stew" by Marcia K Vaughn to learn more about the features and characteristics of living things. Students will also make and create artwork within this theme

Your students are welcomed and settled into Wambangalang, where the teacher will read the big book of Wombat Stew.
Your students will enjoy their recess and then move into messy play. It is strongly recommended that students wear clothes that are able to get wet and muddy.
Your students get creative making their own Wombat Stew recalling the ingredients from the story and sing and dance to the Wombat Stew song.
